USHUAIA, ARGENTINA – The Antarctic Dream has decided to extend its classic 11 day/10 night Antarctic expedition on one special excursion to include travel inside the Antarctic Circle.

On January 6, 2012, the Antarctic Dream will depart on a 14 day/13 night itinerary that ventures much farther south than the Antarctic Dream’s usual course, taking passengers to places rarely seen by human beings.

This one-time only extended journey departs from Ushuaia, Argentina and is being offered at the same price as their classic 11-day itinerary.

For more information, visit http://www.antarcticdream.com, or call 1-877-AD-TRIPS.

In January 2012, the Antarctic Dream, a 78 person expedition cruise ship renowned for its longtime service in the Chilean Navy, will take its passengers on a never-before offered journey into the Antarctic Circle.

While Antarctic Dream has been leader in providing small-ship cruises to Antarctica for almost 10 years, this particular voyage marks the first time an Antarctic Dream ship has carried passengers into Antarctica’s “inner circle.”

On Day 7 of the 14-day itinerary, guests aboard the Antarctic Dream will have the opportunity to toast the successful crossing into the frigid Antarctic Circle with celebratory champagne before continuing on to the Melchior Islands and Spigot Point, home of a large Chinstrap penguin colony.

What distinguishes Antarctic Dream from most Antarctic cruises is the extraordinary, hands-on access to wildlife, glaciers and massive icebergs provided by the smaller capacity vessel.

Passengers of The Antarctic Dream often experience up-close encounters with fur seals, humpback whales, leopard seals and orcas, and are able to explore the blue, icy land during two-to-three hour daily zodiac raft excursions and a minimum of three kayaking expeditions per sailing.

“Sailing on board the Antarctic Dream is an unforgettable experience,” said The Antarctic Dream Marketing Director Pilar Fernandez. “You will experience a true firsthand encounter with nature and return home as an ambassador to the White Continent.”

Information lectures are offered to passengers by the Expedition Leaders and additional presentations and workshops are offered by geologists, naturalists, and special guests, which include celebrated photographers, wildlife experts and award-winning scientists.

The Antarctic Dream features a large dining room, library, auditorium, gym, sauna, laundry, satellite email/phone and boutique. Cabins have private baths, queen or twin beds, closed circuit TV, and inter-cabin phone service.
